Speech-enabled Systems
Speech-enabled systems make use of voice communication and dialogue management standards to perform a variety of speech recognition
and natural language processing applications. A typical example might be a biometric authentication system that extends the
conventional PC logon process using voice verification.
In the video below, a user enters their ID and password as normal but then the biometric logon system makes a VoIP call to
a VXML server which asks the user to speak the numbers 1 - 9. If the captured voice characteristics match those of a previously
registered voice profile, the PC logon proceeds as normal. If no match is possible, then a potential unauthorised system access
has been detected and the logon process can be aborted.
