Erasmus for staff
Erasmus is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme which offers many opportunities including funded teaching placements (short term) as well as funding for joint projects with EU partners.
We currently send around 40 staff to teach each year. This is a small number, considering our lecturing staff population so funding is never an issue. You can chose one of our current partners or maybe you have a contact yourself. If this is the case and your department is in agreement, it doesn't take long to set something up. The travel, subsistence and accommodation is all paid and organised by the Erasmus office but you must check with your academic/programme leader that it is ok and any teaching can be covered – this is not an eligible expense.
There is also the opportunity for administrative staff to take part too. This can be for the purpose of shadowing members of staff, attending a specified training programme or sharing experience of working practice.
Find out what staff from other Universities have to say about their Erasmus experience on the British Council webpages If you want to discuss taking part then please with call us on ext 88171 or email us.
