There are many fantastic placement opportunities for students on these courses.
Why do a placement?
Students on these courses have the chance to apply for a work placement. This is a golden opportunity to develop your understanding of industry practice and boost your employability.
Students can often return from a placement year with an offer of employment on graduation.
Did you know?
- For students starting their course from 2012 there will be no fees during the sandwich placement year.
- NTU is in the top five universities in the UK for the number of Design Studies students taking year- long placements. (HESA data 2009 / 10)
Extra qualification
The placement year also leads to a further qualification - a Diploma in Professional Practice - something else to enhance your CV.
Dedicated Placement Office
We have a dedicated Placement Office and a specialist Architecture Administrator who can assist you in finding, applying for and securing a placement. They can also provide support before, during and after your placement.
Opportunities for BArch (Hons) Architecture students
There is no formal placement year during this ARB / RIBA Part One course. However, many students are successful in finding summer placements. The academic staff are able to offer support and contacts to help you find a placement.
