How do you find studying at NTU? Facilities? Academics?
The Maudslay Workshops are amazing and the technicians help you in any way possible, to make your models or conceptual sculptures. But importantly the tutors are great! You get to know them really well over the course of the three years you are here at NTU. If you need extra help with your design projects, they are willing to help you out wherever they can, they are really supportive.
Would you recommend NTU and your course? Why?
I would definitely recommend NTU! The course is really balanced which is really good. It develops your theoretical knowledge, your artistic ability to design, technical understanding of how buildings are put together and importantly how it really works in industry. All of these help make us a more attractive graduate.
How has NTU’s links to the Architecture industry helped you with your course or future career?
Because the University has some great links with industry, we do not come out of university not knowing what it is like in the real world. We regularly get external practitioners come into the university and help us with design, technical knowledge, architectural theory and teaching us how the industry works. This has helped me a lot in finding summer work throughout my degree, where my previous Director had commented on how well NTU students were prepared for the industry compared to some of the other well-known schools.
