“Undoubtedly the best part of Nottingham Trent University is that it offers a year’s work placement. This sets you apart from other graduates who are competing for the same job for when you graduate. It gives you the opportunity to work abroad which is what I wanted to achieve. I am currently on a 6 month work placement at Atelier New York Architecture and will complete my last 6 months in London."

“During my time in New York I have worked on several projects, one of which was to turn a simple residential block into a trendy, sophisticated retail space with the notion of it fitting its site context in mid-town Manhattan. As part of my daily work experience I site survey and draft plans up, as a result I feel extremely confident in Auto Cad which will unquestionably help me in my final year."

“Experiencing how a company works abroad is always a great challenge and it will be interesting to compare how a London firm may differ. As a result of accomplishing work experience I now have a much focused understanding of which design route I want to go into when I graduate. I strongly recommend a work placement abroad as working and living in New York has been an incredible experience."
