“NTU has a great reputation for art and design based courses, with new facilities continuing to become available. Given the redevelopment of the Newton-Arkwright building, I think it is clear that the university really supports the creative courses as well as the more academic ones. The university also offers a great range of sports and social clubs with facilities present at each campus."

“Being in the first year for the Architecture course at NTU we are in a really small group, which has been great in terms of allowing everyone to really know each other over the past three years. This has also meant that we have access to a lot of one-to-one time with the tutors for our design work, which really pushes us to develop our projects and ideas. The tutors supportively organise site visits and a yearly trip, which we share with other courses such as interior architecture and landscape design, enabling the students to mix with others in the school."

“I chose Nottingham because it's a vibrant, unique city offering kitsch, quirky places to go and eat or drink, along with a very student-orientated night life. It also offers fantastic music venues for both alternative unsigned bands and mainstream bands. The city also offers plenty to do both in the winter and summer months with the international market, the Goose fair and the Dot-to-Dot festival for music fans.”

“Over the previous summer I worked for Halsall Lloyd and Partners, a local company in Nottingham. This short experience has given me a lot more confidence with my work and the opportunity to improve on existing skills and learn new ones well enough for my final year. During my time there I got to work on a range of projects such as Bluebell Hill community centre in St. Ann’s Nottingham and the development of some flats in Rotherham. It was a valuable experience to see how a company operates and to see what type of work I will be doing during my placement year.”
