"I would recommend Nottingham Trent University to anyone. It’s excellent, as well as being in a good position (centre of Nottingham). It has everything from the nightlife, to a wide range of courses, such as mine.
"My placement year is going really well! I love it, and it’s amazing how much you learn in so little time. My time is mostly spent in the office drawing on AutoCAD, where I do a variety of jobs ranging from; Technical Details, Sections, Elevations and Floor Plans. I also participate in design work, presentations, and help research materials and finishes. This is just some of the work I’ve done recently.
"My placement at S and P has made me love the career that I am starting, and has opened my eyes to what an interesting job we do! My career decision has definitely been a good one with everyday feeling like a school day again.
"There have been several highlights so far this year but one which has stood out from others was when I was left in charge of the completion of a project that S and P had been bidding for. I had the responsibility of making sure all the drawings were complete, up to standard and emailed to the contractor before the deadline. I also had to answer questions about the project from clients and contractors, and produce a final presentation for the final hand-in. That week was stressful but well worth it in the end!
"My future plans are to return back to S and P upon graduation. I will then carry on with my pop record, which will then entitle me to become a Chartered Architectural Technologist (CIAT) in the near future. By this time I will hopefully be able to successfully design and run jobs within the company."
