CIOB - Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Fund Scholarship
Graduating BSc (Hons) Construction Management student James Hood has been awarded a coveted £5,000 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Fund Scholarship from the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
This £5,000 award is based on the merits of his final-year dissertation which explored the theme of sustainable housing, currently one of the hottest topics in the industry.
His work - which is of such a high quality that it may now be published in an industry journal - included site visits, attendance at conferences, surveys of developers and homebuyers as well as interviews with leading figures in the construction field.

Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Certificate of Excellence
This prestigious prize is awarded annually to CIOB accredited programmes at the final year exam board in June based on performance over the years of study. This award is donated and awarded by the East Midlands Branch of the CIOB.
Best Group Performance for final year module Integrated Project
Best Group Performance for final year module Integrated Project which is taught across all courses (sandwich, full-time and part-time study) within the Construction Management subject group.
The Integrated Project is designed to bring the four years of study to a conclusion. The project over the last few years has been donated by Willmott Dixon and is a live construction project. The students are required to present their plans to the company, the panel last year included NTU graduate, Neil Crane, who is now a Graduate Surveyor at Willmott Dixon.

Prize for best Dissertation
This prestigious prize is awarded to a BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Construction Commercial Management student.
Scholarships
Construction students are eligible to apply for several external scholarships, including 'Inspire'.
BConstructive run the 'Inspire' Scholarship Scheme, which offers 120 students up to £9,000 towards their studies.
The construction employers that have contributed to the scheme – which include Amex Group, Balfour Beatty, Mowlem and Persimmon – have also committed to offering 10 week summer placements. In addition, they may offer placements during students' sandwich years and the possibility of employment post-graduation.
