Joseph Finding
BSc (Hons) Construction Management

What did you do before starting at NTU?
I took a gap year after finishing school as I was playing hockey internationally. Whilst on my gap year I worked for my father’s construction company, he thought it would be a good way to give me an idea of whether I wanted a career in construction. After a short while I decided I wanted to study construction at university.

What has been the highlight of your course so far?
The highlight of my Construction Management degree so far was the field trip at the end of second year for the engineering surveying module. Not only was it really good fun, it also was a great way of putting the skills we had learnt throughout the year into practice. I have thoroughly enjoyed the sustainable technology module in my final year, so much so that I am hoping to do a masters.

What's the best thing about studying at NTU?
The best thing about studying at NTU is the facilities that Newton and Arkwright offer, they have only been available in my final year but have made such a difference to the working environment and comfort when learning. I also played for the university hockey club and this was a great social outlet that has made me many friends and loads of great memories. I have such a great time studying here.
