What did you most enjoy about your course?
"The course was good because it provided a rounded background to various aspects of Civil Engineering. In my opinion the strengths of the course were activities such as the week long Surveying Field Trip and design projects which gave a good introduction to practical tasks which you are likely to experience in practice. Highlights were winning a couple of awards for my performance and of course graduation day!"
Would you recommend NTU and your course?
"I would recommend NTU and the courses within the Civil Engineering disciplines. The lecturers who delivered the course were all experts in their field and came from both academia and practicing engineers thereby delivering the course with both an in-depth theoretical as well as a practical emphasis. The Engineering Council accreditation of the courses also stood them out from the competition."
What was the most difficult aspect of starting your own business?
"The most difficult aspect of starting my own business was the development of an initial client base to provide income to the business and facilitate its growth. Once our clients saw the quality of our work, they have continued to use us and are now recommending us to others leading to a wider client base."
And the most rewarding?
"The most rewarding part of starting my own business was, and continues to be, seeing the business grow and develop a market position. Me and my team are passionate about Inertia Consulting and Engineering in general. Every project is personal and we take pride when seeing one of our bridges constructed, proudly saying to ourselves 'That's one of ours'."
