How did you first hear about the course?
"I was looking at Civil Engineering coursers and when I read the description in the prospectus I realised this course would be perfect for me. I have a real interest in the designing of buildings, and with Maths being one of my favourite subjects; Civil Engineering covered both of these aspects."

What do you like about Civil Engineering at NTU?
"I like NTU a lot and have learnt a lot of things about engineering in my course. As the University has excellent links with businesses and the industry I was able to find a placement in my third year where I was able to gain a lot of experience."

Tell us about your work placement experience. What did your role include?
"I worked for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's engineering department. I was able to work on various projects as a structural engineer and designed buildings, retaining walls etc. I have always liked structures and this year gave me a good practical knowledge of this whilst working in industry. Civil Engineering is a practical subject, so the opportunity to have work experience is very helpful when it comes to getting a job in the future as well as degree from a well-recognised University."
