"The course has given me a great insight into both the theory and practical aspects of civil engineering.
"The great central location of the University, in the heart of Nottingham, meant that it was easy to go and see the tutors for advice and support throughout the course.
"My placement gave me a practical understanding of engineering and construction work in preparation for my final year studies. The year also gave me an opportunity to develop relationships with employers prior to graduation.
"The placement has given me an insight into the day to day running of a large civil engineering project. I was given the opportunity to manage a small project through design and into implementation."
