"The course is set up in such a way that you discover a wide range of new skills and understanding. It’s impossible to feel bored with what you are learning. I have been taught a wide range of topics, from ground engineering to technical drawing. Every lecture brings with it new obstacles and more mountains to climb, but if you are willing to rise to the challenge, it will be nothing but rewarding.
"I joined a structural designer’s office for my placement year and immediately started a journey along a very steep learning curve… On my third day I was given the responsibility of structurally designing a timber framed house from top to bottom. But the people I worked with were on hand to give me help whenever I need it. From then on, it was a speedy progression to larger jobs and greater challenges."
