Position: Student Engineer
"I'm currently working on placement for the Electricity Alliance East, an Alliance between National Grid and Balfour Beatty. The Alliance is responsible for all work to be carried out on the National Electricity Grid for at least the next five years. Working as a design engineer, I’ve been involved in a variety of activities including: the generation of loadings for towers; development of new approaches to solve problems; and the compilation of documents to allow for the ordering of materials.
"I have greatly improved upon my MS Excel skills, as I have been developing existing spreadsheets.
"My experience so far has certainly shown to me that engineering is an interesting and varied career. I certainly intend to enter into the engineering profession."
