What do you most enjoy about your course?
The people you study with makes the mundane parts of every course, and everyday life that little bit more enjoyable. The friends you make over the four years of studying in such small numbers on an intense course become good friends and besides gaining a degree is what university is all about. Furniture and product design is an interesting subject and one which with hard work reaps great rewards. Having two final products to show for it at the end is a great added bonus compared to most other courses.
How do you find studying at NTU?
Nottingham is a great place to both live and study, and I've loved my time there. The University is getting better and better, especially with the additions of the new Newton and Arkwright buildings, which are fantastic places to study. Furniture and Product design has the element of building your own final pieces and the workshop facilities are why NTU produce such professional pieces year after year.
Would you recommend NTU and your course?
It’s such an intense course which requires a lot of hard work and time, but if you are prepared to put the hours in you will definitely get out what you put in. I'd recommend it to any creative mind as it’s a fantastic course with a lot of prospects that come of it. The placement year was a fantastic experience for me and one which taught me so much about the furniture design industry before tackling final year. I loved doing the course and have made some great friends because of it.
