"This course covers all aspects of product design from concept to marketing which provides an all round understanding of the industry. The staff are really approachable and supportive.
"I've really enjoyed the City campus aspect, being a busy city, there's always a lot to do when you're not in lectures and the location of the University is really convenient.
"The facilities (e.g. the union and the library) are fantastic and the sandwich courses are well regarded.
"On my placement I work with the CAD engineers and technicians and have been assisting in the improvement of alternator designs which involves research and testing on actual alternators.
"In addition, I provide support to other offices in design amendment. I have been able to develop my CAD skills and put the things I've learnt on the course into practice, as well as acquiring many other new skills.
"Students on placement at Bosch can come from anywhere around the world - wherever Bosch has offices, so I've had the opportunity to meet lots of different people.
"Working in a professional environment has widened my interest in design even more, and has developed my curiosity in engineering too, due to the technical nature of the job. The placement has made me realise that I like both the creative and technical aspects of design. A career that combines both of these would be ideal.
"I have really enjoyed being able to have an influence on engineering design decisions during my work placement. Socially, it’s also been great fun as I've made lots of friends from all over the world that I will definitely keep in touch with."
