John Pitts
Study exchange to: Copenhagen College of Engineering, Denmark

"On the course I chose to do all the students are broken into project teams of between four and six and a typical day was from 8:30am until potentially 5 or 6pm. I also followed a secondary course in Satellites which was needed for my team’s project. The team were also required to meet the business liaison office once a week to discuss progress. No one day was actually typical - other than a lot of work needed to be done!

"Outside of study the experience was also great. There are a number of activities in the city as it’s the capital. There were lots of attractions and cultural venues and the nightlife is thriving. Alternatively a number of international sports teams such as football or rugby are available outside the university but given the large foreign populace it is easy to find a group to join if desired.

"I was studying with students from everywhere in the world; from all over Europe, Africa, Asia and North, Central and South America. I was the only British person at the university which actually worked in my favour as everyone wants to know you as you’re different (and can also translate), the people I was closest to originated from Europe, the USA and Brazil.

"It was probably the best experience of my life and because of it I have met people, experienced things and seen places I wouldn’t have otherwise. I’ve visited some of the people since the course ended I am still in contact with most people I met.

"I would you recommend the exchange without hesitation. It’s an experience you won’t forget - you will have the time of your lives, make some very good friends and learn a lot too!"
