Tilt light

Tilt light is a flexible energy efficient table light. The head has an induction charged battery and can be adjusted using a cantilever-wedging mechanism. It can be removed from the stem and used around the home as an ambient light/torch. The base is an induction charging pad; when the battery is drained the user places the head on the base to recharge.

ORB

ORB is a family of bathroom accessories with a distinct and bold visual DNA, using a limited palette of premium materials: varnished maple, silicone rubber and stainless steel. The collection was created in response to the existing market of mundane and invisible products. It aims to enhance the experience of the bathroom by creating simplicity in use and design.

The lounge chair has both comfort and truth to materials in mind. The plywood shell hangs from a maple frame, where joints are made a feature using a contrasting wood. Its construction draws on both modern techniques and traditional joinery, whilst materials are sourced locally and sustainably.

Clip

Clip is a simple and elegant desk lamp. Unnecessary design details are removed to ensure the light doesn't add to the clutter of the modern home desk. The CNC bent steel frame loops up and around the injection moulded shade, giving the impression that the shade is floating. The neutral frame and shade are accented by the bright fabric flex.

Expose is an energy efficient desk light. The frame is constructed from stainless steel sheet to create it’s unique
form. The Zebrano veneer has been applied to give a sense of quality and character. With the main purpose of being a task light, the head can also be manipulated to control the light exposure allowing for an ambience feel.

117° finds elegance in simplicity. 117° refers to the angle in the top of the handle from which every piece originates. The range is the perfect combination of form and function. Each piece has been painstakingly reduced to its purest form, which results in an enhanced dining experience. The range includes a cheese set, a steak knife set, a carving set and a kitchen knife set.

Kin

Kin is a contemporary dining table which is the centre of family life. An in depth examination of modern families has resulted in this unique aesthetic in which each feature holds significance. Keen exploration into a variety of materials has led to the distinctive combination of concrete and wood, which adds character and echos important elements of family life. My dissertation analyses the importance of originality.

Fold is a desk for the home office; the key feature of Fold is the ability to easily store the product when not in use. Fold’s innovative design allows the product to be shipped to the consumer fully assembled, only requiring the legs to be unfolded for use. Designed with an eco-conscience both the product and production are carbon offset.

Characterised by obvious construction, Frank demonstrates truth to materials and truth to manufacture; combining the utilitarian feel of metal with the natural warmth of wood. By tilting and swivelling the shade to direct light, Frank can be used either as a task light or an ambient light.

Frank was chosen to appear on the front over of New Design Magazine.

Key

Key is a coffee table with a secret. It comprises of a number of hidden compartments that can only be opened once the sequence is known. The puzzle brings trust into the family whist also providing a secure system for the treasured possessions. Made of White American Oak veneer and an acrylic marble feature bowl. The question is, how many hidden compartments does it contain?

Zed is a fun domestic light promoting the future of lighting, LEDs. Its magnetic feature provides interchangeable head positions, with 2 colour options for desired effect. An additional element is the touch switch; simple and sleek. Quality materials were chosen to achieve the contemporary appearance, black powder coated steel and black American walnut.

‘Well hung’ is an adjustable wall light that can be used for both task or ambient lighting by manoeuvring the height of the lamp. The Walnut frame and Aluminium spun lamp along with colourful fabric cable give it a unique feel and look for any environment.

1851 Gallery range

The 1851 Gallery range is an adaptable table/bench set that has been purposely designed for Nottingham Trent University, for space saving purposes. With interchangeable tops and legs, the set allows the University to construct coffee tables, small benches or taller tables for display purposes.
