Pretop, my major project, is a new product for the domestic kitchen of the mega city. Integrating chopping boards with weighing scales, linked to applications on the user’s smart mobile device; users are encouraged to plan their meals and to purchase and prepare food more economically, in order to prevent avoidable food waste while improving their diets.

Angular sink

The contemporary design is created using an angular sink, complemented by a revolutionary side tap which improves the relationship between the sink and user. As the end of the tap is turned, water is released from the centre, the further it is rotated the wider the spread of water, creating a waterfall effect. With the tap fully open the spread is wide enough to span the whole face and give the user a unique experience.

ProFeed

ProFeed is the solution to the problem tennis coaches have faced for years. Traditional hoppers are bulky and once positioned remain static. ProFeed brings ball hoppers into the 21st century, the simple mono-strap backpack can carry over 40 balls and the unique delivery tube allows a constant supply of tennis balls directly to the coaches hand; giving the coach the ability to simulate true match situations.

1milk 

1milk is a reusable fresh milk container, used to purchase, transport and serve fresh milk. Encouraging reuse rather than disposal, 1milk considers the full journey milk makes; from the farm to the breakfast table. Milk cartridges purchased can be refilled or exchanged at the store, or delivered to the door step.

Peat is a product to help “Educate Future Growers”. The product twinned with its supporting service aims to provide families with all the necessary information and confidence to begin growing their own vegetables. Fitting on to a window sill, the product hopes to remove preconceptions towards growing vegetables, making it fun and engaging.

Okra

Okra is a versatile pendant lighting system that is aimed at the consumer market. The elegant shade is formed from a single Corian net, this innovative process allows for further creative possibilities such as the introduction of patterns or textures. Multiple shades can be combined in endless arrangements to suit the users needs, leading to endless possibilities.

Boom 

Boom are PC speakers designed to accompany high end computers and complement the user’s workspace. Consisting of organic teak bodies and acrylic horn features the speakers offer an alternative option to the plastic box designs found on the  market today. The originality of Booms design creates a lasting relationship between the product and user increasing product longevity.

Geminus

Geminus is a design aimed to help reduce water wastage within the home. The design involves a hidden water recycling system allowing the toilet to re-use water from the sink to flush the toilet. Although the sink and toilet are connected they maintain a clear distance apart so not to discourage the user from the product. Non- toxic tablets are used to sterilize the water.

Sinuous 7328 - designer wallcoverings

An unconventional approach to lighting design, aiming to provide the user with a tranquil environment to return home to, through its decorative pattern and the power of light. Numerous LEDs illuminate through the coloured perspex and onto the aluminum, which can be personalised easily to create a three dimensional effect.

Joe’s Alice lamp was shortlisted in the Student Lighting Awards 2011

Alice

Alice is a light therapy lamp designed for use with sufferers of Alzheimer’s disease. Alice administers specific wavelength light for adjustable time periods. The Blue light helps to regulate the body clock of Alzheimer's patients and together with a day to night indicator, improves the sleeping patterns and general well being of the patients.

Toci

Toci is a unique baby monitoring system, enabling the user to customize the set up to suit their parenting needs. Designed for the modern day family, Toci combines high quality materials with innovative technology. The main touch screen unit provides a portable control hub for up to four external monitory devices. Toci merges flexibility, practicality and style into a user friendly product.

Body wash is commonly packaged in complex plastic mouldings, using large amounts of virgin materials and rarely avoiding landfill. Dilute aims to reduce this negative impact by producing body wash in a concentrated format, dramatically reducing the size taken up in transit and the quantity of plastic required offering a feasible solution for both consumer and retailer.

4.3 is a domestic fan driven by a gearing system which doesn't require electricity. It has two large wheels on it’s rear to allow both left handed and right handed users to wind-up the fan. Initially inspired by the classic table clock, 4.3’s design developed into a blend of three different design styles; classic, contemporary and futuristic.

Neutrino

Neutrino is a 40m long family yacht, designed for long distance travel. It runs on a hybrid engine, that requires diesel and the natural elements to produce electricity. With built-in furniture, Neutrino’s interior exhibit beauty but also a vast amount of space in a compact area. Neutrino is only a concept yacht, and is being used to demonstrate how these technologies can be implemented into future yacht designs.

NovelTea is a contemporary and compact commercial tea set that serves tea for one. All the components are stored and supported in a walnut tray enabling easy transportation for waiters and allows the customer to have more space available for such things as personal belongings and magazines.

Polli

Polli is an innovative watertight fold up vase. Polli is made from sheet polypropylene so it can be used again and again. Polli carries and supports the flowers from start to finish so there is no need to use a vase. The product first wraps around the flowers for easy transportation and then folds up in to a watertight vase to present the flowers.

The playtime tower

The playtime tower aims to encourage free play and discovery for children in the developing world. Each side can be adapted to form a teacher led educational game as well as allowing children to play and explore freely. The tower is constructed from local, readily available materials; installation only requires the use of simple hand tools and is based around one tower to encourage collaboration.

Stackle

Stackle is a specimen angler’s tackle box. The modular design allows the angler to choose what tackle, bait and equipment they need and pack it up quickly. The three sized boxes stack on top of one another secured with a silicone sleeve that rolls up and down. Stackle is perfect for the angler that likes to roam around, its hidden innovations include the suction baiting needle and the handle rest.

B-ocket

The ‘B-ocket’ is two playhouses in one. The user can change the playhouse from a boat to a rocket or vice versa. The product changes because childrens tastes change on a daily basis, so their environment needs to change as well. Also as we all know variety is the spice of life and children should be able to experience different environments to play in.

Oriental Meal for Two

The ‘Oriental Meal for Two’  brings the restaurant experience into the home with added features such as serving trays, chopsticks, wet wipes and fortune cookies, which also creates talking points. It is new to the takeaway market and bridges the gap (regarding meal enjoyment and entertainment) between eating in and eating out.
