Contemporary kitchen handle able to provide stylish mood lighting under open plan living environments. The working model activates automatically when the light falls within a threshold.

A contemporary pushchair travel system using an isofix detachable car seat. The unique Tri-wheeled design allows it to safely traverse stairwells and other inclined obstacles with ease. The use of Tri-star wheel formations at the rear provide a cost effective, non- motorised solution to the intended aim of the project.

Air Clear is a cost effective wing mirror clearing device that utilises air flow generated by the motion of the vehicle to dispel water droplets left by precipitation. It features a series of vents that funnel the air flow from the rear of the wing mirror to the mirror face via a built-in channel in the body.

Pineal takes inspiration from nature, the concept combines subtle mood lighting and a functional contemporary design that can be produced in a number of attractive finishes. For ease of use, a sensor detects falling light levels and triggers the LED bulbs when necessary.

The kitchen HuB is a new and innovative product which integrates the two most common appliances, the kettle and the toaster. The resultant design was a subtle, simplistic concept which reserved radical aesthetic in favour of introducing new product functionality into the market which could be appreciated by the mass market.

The Aurora concept handle was designed and developed for handle manufacturers Crofts and Assinder. Its sleek contemporary aesthetics creates a focal point within a room, using ambient light to incorporate added functionality.

NICE Device is a portable handheld scanner used to obtain the nutritional information of foodstuffs eaten over a period of time. On connection to a PC via the accompanying docking station, users can analyse the levels of nutrients consumed. NICE Device endeavours to aid health conscious individuals in maintaining a balanced, well nourished lifestyle.

NightStrider is a safety system aimed at people who run during low light conditions. The sole unit replaces the original sole as a retrofit and contains an inbuilt generator, utilising electromagnetic induction to provide power to a circuit. This circuit uses LEDs at the front and back of the running shoe to warn traffic of the runner's presence.

D:Lite – A handle with an inbuilt circuit which lights up at night, giving an ambient glow to the room.

David Masters

A kitchen drawer handle that incorporates lighting technology, illuminating when the surrounding ambient light fades. LDR technology was used to activate the handle which glows blue when illuminated.

The Sketchlet gives users the ability to express their creative and design skills at any time and in any environment. The portable device is supported by a high quality piece of drawing software, capable of utilising layers, multiple drawing tools and a full range of colours. Its TFT Touch Screen display provides the ideal input format, whilst displaying high quality imagery.

Four Wheeled Cycle. Designed to be more inclusive than a standard bicycle, the TrailCat can be ridden by all, regardless of ability, over varied terrain.

Features: Unique purpose-built differential, ergonomically contoured seat, fully adjustable wheel geometry, all around hydraulic disc brakes and air filled adjustable shock absorbers.

Matthew Miller

The F.I.SH, Fully Integrated Shelter, was designed to carry a single angler's equipment and also accommodate the angler for weekend trips. The unit provides seating, lighting, equipment storage and transportation along with an electrical supply to power facilities such as a kettle and cooker.

Carl Rigby

DOPE Screen is a snowboarding jacket with an integrated OLED 'Display of Piste Environment'. The unit includes a GPS system, which gives the user a visual confirmation of their location, travelling speed, altitude, date and time. Additional data logging functionality will allow for downloading the data at the end of each day.
