The competition
Who can enter?
The competition is open to final-year undergraduate Product and Industrial Design student projects worldwide. Submissions are invited from students studying Product Design; Industrial Design; Furniture Design; 3D Design; Packaging Design; and related areas.
The brief
The competition theme is “Product Design Innovation”
In a broad sense, submissions are invited from projects where there is evidence of innovation and creativity when compared against existing products. Judging criteria are defined as:
- a new or improved product
- introduction and commercial use of a new method of production
- introduction of a new form of business process
- new uses for existing products
- defining new markets.
Participants of the competition are advised to pay attention to the following elements as they apply to their design:
- innovation and creativity
- global appeal
- environmental design
- sustainable design
- interaction design
- ergonomics
- aesthetics
- materials selection
- brand
