Research, scholarly and professional interests

Linda is studying for her PhD at the University of Nottingham. Her project is on British Photographer Cornel Lucas. Lucas is a photographer whose work has dealt with international movie stars and movie makers from the 1940s onwards and the thesis looks at both production practices and ideas of glamour within Lucas' work.

Her research has always been concerned with the relationship and histories of photography, celebrity and acommodification. She has previously looked at areas such as photography as a form of visual gossip', the use of photography in creating the ‘star' and celebrity bodies in photography.

Her interests also link to issues related to professional photographic practice within the creative industries, particularly in relation to copyright and aesthetic and commercial value.
