Job responsibilities
Simon Boyes is the Admissions Tutor for the School’s Undergraduate Programmes; he leads, lectures and tutors on European Union law modules on Nottingham Law School’s LLB programmes.
Simon has a particular specialism in sports law in which he leads an optional final-year undergraduate module. He also leads and teaches on a number of modules on the LLM Sports Law programme, as well as supervising PhD students.
External academic and professional activity
Simon frequently presents papers at external conferences and was the organiser of the Annual Conference of the Association for the Study of Sport and the European Union, hosted by NTU in 2011.
Simon has acted as an external examiner for the examination of PhD candidates at a number of institutions and is currently an external examiner for undergraduate law programmes at Staffordshire University.

Simon is able to offer supervision for research students across the range of topics associated with sports law, as well as those involving elements of European Union law.

After completing LLB and LLM degrees at the University of Hull, Simon Boyes spent a year as a Research Associate in the Centre for Study of Sport and Law at Kings College, University of London. Simon then spent three-years working as a part of the International Sports Law Centre at Anglia Law School, Anglia Ruskin University, where he also taught European Union Law and Public Law modules. Simon Joined Nottingham Law School in 2001, teaching across a range of subjects, but focussing on European Union Law, Public Law and Sports Law and is an active researcher.
