Job responsibilities
Andy’s main teaching interests are in developmental psychology, research methods and introductory psychology. He teaches final year options on educational needs and inclusion and masters level options on observational methods. His introductory teaching through ‘key studies’ methods is supported by the text that he co-authored with Phil Banyard ‘Introducing Psychological Research’ (published by Palgrave/Macmillan). He has also edited two other major developmental psychology teaching texts on cognitive and language development, and on development in infancy. His main role in academic management is as Examinations and Assessment Officer, which involves providing academic leadership to the Psychology team with regard to all matters to do with assessment. Andy is also co-director of the Communication for Inclusion Research Unit (CIRU).
