Information for prospective research students

Professor Jowitt has recently supervised PhD candidates on projects concerned with Renaissance representations of Turks, John Fletcher's dramatic works, and John Barclay's prose romance Argenis and Research Masters students on gender and landscape in early modern colonial literature, and on representations of Muslim women in Renaissance drama.

She would be interested in working on other PhD and research MA projects on Renaissance travel writing, the history of empire and colonialism, race, as well as other aspects of Renaissance literature and culture.
