Information for prospective research students

Professor Woods' main areas of interest for research supervision are twentieth-century gay and lesbian literature; post-war gay and lesbian film and cultural studies; and the AIDS epidemic. However, he is also happy to consider approaches by high-quality candidates working in most areas of twentieth-century literature. Supervisory teams can be tailor-made across specialist areas and across disciplines to suit the needs of the individual student/topic. He is also available to supervise doctorates in creative writing (poetry) and welcome creative writing proposals.
