Job responsibilities

Clare is responsible for leading and contributing to the research efforts of the Business School in terms of publication outputs, grant capture, and mentoring. Her teaching interests include relationship marketing, risk in supply chains, women business owners, and research methods. Clare also undertakes the supervision of masters, DBA, and PhD dissertations.

  • Director/Trustee and VP for Marketing and PR of the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE).
  • Founder of the International Supply Chain Risk Management Network (ISCRIM); a collaborative network involving 30 researchers from major universities across 10 countries. The book that emerged from the ISCRIM network, and edited by Clare, Groundbreaking, by Professor Martin Christopher, at Cranfield University.

Information for prospective clients

Clare has supervised a number of students through to PhD completion in the areas of entrepreneurship, services marketing and risk, and has acted as an external examiner for PhD and MPhil candidates in marketing and entrepreneurship.

She is particularly interested in supervising students who wish to pursue research in the areas of supply chain risk, women's self-employment, entrepreneurship and risk. She favours qualitative methodological approaches, especially case study research.
