Job responsibilities
Andy is Head of the Division of Economics and is a member of the NBS Executive. He also heads up one of the Division’s consultancy units, Nottingham Economics. His main teaching interests fall in the sphere of applied microeconomics, particularly economic evaluation, environmental economics and the economics of sport.
Research, scholarly and professional interests
Andy’s main area of research is in the area of the economics of professional team sports, focusing particularly on cricket. He has also contributed to a variety of consultancy based projects for both private sector and public sector clients.
Information for prospective research students
Andy has supervised 7 PhDs to completion, with 2 further candidates close to submission. He is particularly interested in supervising doctoral students in the broad area of sports economics.
