Overview

Christine McCall is a Senior Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). She teaches on a variety of English language programmes, including the in-sessional language support programme for international students. Her specialist areas include supporting international students on the LLM, MA Journalism, MA Media and Globalisation, and MA International Relations programmes, as well as supporting international Ph.D. students at NTU. She is also a member of the team which delivers the MA in English Language Teaching.

Christine began her academic career in the University of Hannover, Germany, where she was a member of the MA English Language team, and was a state-recognised examiner for English Language teacher training. Her next position was in Liverpool John Moores University, as English Language Summer School Coordinator. From Liverpool she moved to Nottingham Trent University, where she became Senior Lecturer in 2003.

She spent the summer of 2005 at the University of Michigan, USA, doing research on, and developing, in-sessional support materials for international LLM students. She has an M.Sc in International Studies and an M.Ed in English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
