Donna Humphrey is a senior lecturer in intercultural communication studies and English language education. She lectures on both undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the following subjects:
• Intercultural Communication (IC) studies
• English Language Education including IC
• English as a Foreign Language
• English for specific purposes
Donna established and managed the Nottingham Language Centre at Nottingham Trent University for close to 12 years. During this time, as subject leader for the EFL/TESOL team she was responsible for the academic and commercial development of the subject of English as a Foreign Language and teacher training. She has been an external examiner and a member of a number of validation committees. Donna has an MEd in English Language Teaching from the University of Manchester and an RSA/UCLES Diploma in English Language teaching (now DELTA) to Adults. She has extensive experience in developing and delivering educational programmes for adult, multi-national groups in the private and public sector, including corporate clientele. She has worked for the past twenty-five years with a wide range of International, European and U.K-based groups. She is a trained NLP practitioner and life coach. She spent many years teaching in Greece and Italy before returning to Britain and joining Nottingham Trent University. Her main research interest is in intercultural communication education and training, and the psychology of intercultural interaction. She is also currently researching the intersection between human educational principles and its application to the training of human and horses.
