Job responsibilities
As Programme Leader for Masters courses in Graphic Design Stuart is responsible for the academic leadership and management of the following awards: MA Graphic Design, MA Art Direction, MA Branding & Identity Design, MA Illustration and MA Motion Graphic Design.
Current projects
With many years experience as a brand packaging designer for national, pan-European and international brands Stuart’s research interests include the study of national identity and visual culture in former Yugoslavia. He has recently presented papers at the CRONEM conference ‘Nationalism and National Identities Today: Multidisciplinary Perspectives’ at the University of Surrey, at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, UCL and at University College for the Creative Arts. The papers considered certain elements of visual culture in Croatia, which helped to configure national identity between 1990 and 1992 - during Croatia’s transition from Republic within former Yugoslavia to its emergence as an independent sovereign state.
