Short breaks in service
Critical updates (patches) are released from Microsoft on a monthly basis. As part of our management of Information Systems' services, we evaluate these patches to assess their impact on our environment. We then test and apply those that maintain security and reliability, increase service performance, or fix problems.
Applying the patches to servers creates a short break in service usually lasting five to fifteen minutes while each server is rebooted. These will happen on the weekend following the first Tuesday every month.
