International business figures to continue anniversary lectures
Two leading business figures are to give lectures as part of the 30 year celebrations
Two eminent figures from the business world are set to give guest lectures at Nottingham Business School, part of Nottingham Trent University. Leading international marketeer, John Farrell, and entrepreneur and former 'Dragon', Doug Richard, are set to visit the School as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
John Farrell, former CEO and president of Specialised Agencies and Marketing Services Worldwide for the Publicis Groupe, one of the world's top four communications groups, will speak about 'Building Brands in Challenging Times' on Tuesday 16 March 2010.
John will talk about the changing demands on marketeers and brand owners in relation to building brand equity in the new challenging market place. He said: "I'll also be looking at the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital world we now live in, and will look at the importance of real consumer understanding and the recognition that consumers own brands, not marketing departments."
On Tuesday 30 March 2010, entrepreneur and founder of School for Startups, Doug Richard, will speak to guests about his 'most embarrassing mistakes'. Doug has over 20 years experience in the development and leadership of technology and software ventures and featured in the first two TV series of Dragons' Den.
Doug Richard said: "I'm going to come clean that I'm an accidental entrepreneur and detail every major mistake I've made in size order to show just how uncertain success really is."
Dean of Nottingham Business School, Professor Baback Yazdani, said: "As we celebrate 30 years of excellence in business and management, it is a pleasure to welcome two such high profile and hugely successful business figures to the School to share their experiences and insights."
This event will also feature a presentation from Chris Hall, business manager at Nottingham Trent University's entrepreneurship unit, The Hive. Chris will give a brief outline of the services, programmes and functions that the University provides through The Hive to support student and graduate enterprise and entrepreneurship.
