Year One
Gain insight into the industry through a combination of modules in:

Learn through a mix of theory and practical workshops, seminars and lectures.
Year Two

Take the opportunity to study for a term at the prestigious New York Institute of Technology.
If you choose to spend a year in industry you'll start to work with our Placement Office to find a suitable placement. You'll compete for exciting opportunities across a wide range of fashion businesses. You will be fully supported by a designated NTU placement officer and course staff.
Year Three - work placement (optional)
You'll have the option to compete for a one-year industrial placement during your third year, giving hands-on experience within the industry and invaluable opportunities for future employment. Your placement or placements must last a minimum of 36 weeks.
If you choose not to take a placement year, you'll progress directly to the final year of the course.
Year Four
Combine theory with practice, exploring:
- Retail and Financial Management
- People Management
- Product Management
- Fashion Marketing.
You'll also produce a dissertation on a subject of your choice.

Theoretical, technical and practical knowledge and skills are integrated throughout the course.
Assessment
Assessment includes individual and group reports, presentations, examinations and a dissertation.

Course selection
Selection for this course takes place through UCAS application form. Mature applicants may be asked to attend an interview at the University.
English language requirements
English language entry requirements for courses in the School of Art & Design, and a full list of all English language qualifications accepted by the University are available on our website.
UCAS points
The 280 UCAS tariff points needed for entry to this course should be taken from one of the following:
- three full A-levels (excluding General Studies)
- two full A-levels plus two AS-Levels (excluding General Studies)
- an equivalent qualification (such as a BTEC National Diploma with a DMM profile)
- a Distinction from an art and design foundation course.
For this course a Diploma in Fashion Retail will be counted as equivalent to one A-Level. Key Skills points are not accepted towards the 280 UCAS points required for this course.
If you're unsure if the qualifications you have, or are studying for, meet the minimum entry requirements please contact us before submitting a UCAS application.
GCSE Maths or numerical subject
If you don't have GCSE Maths grade B or above, then you'll need to have a grade B in one of the following GCSE numerical subjects (unless you're a mature applicant):
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Economics
- Statistics
Mature applicants
We welcome applications from mature applicants (who are over the age of 21) for this course. Candidates of this nature will be assessed on an individual basis.
If you're a mature applicant you'll still need to apply by UCAS form but you won't necessarily need to meet our minimum entry requirements. For this course we would expect applicants without the formal academic requirements, to have considerable relevant industry work experience.
