Course focus
This course develops the knowledge and skills to successfully undertake the role of quantity surveyor - ensuring that the aims and objectives of construction projects are met in terms of cost, value, quality and time.

The modules in Year One are shared with BSc (Hons) Construction Management and BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction Commercial Management.
This enables you to develop a multi-disciplinary perspective and gives the flexibility to switch to either of the other courses at the start of your second year (subject to your original entry qualifications).

Site visits and trips form an integral part of the learning process, allowing you to put theory into practice.
Work placement
The third year work placement option is spent in working in industry gaining relevant and valuable experience. A dedicated placement office assists you in finding, and supporting you during, your placement.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a mixture of coursework, project work, examinations and a final year project.

This course gives students the opportunity to undertake a year-long work placement (minimum of 36 weeks in one or more organisations). This will give you real, hands-on experience within the industry, opening up exciting opportunities for future employment.

Entry requirement details
You will need:
- a minimum of 240 UCAS tariff points achieved from at least two A-levels or equivalent qualification
- General Studies A-level is accepted
- GCSE Maths at grade C or above
- GCSE English at grade C or above (literature or language)
- English language requirements for International and EU students
- mature applicants with non-standard qualifications but relevant work experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Pre-sessional English courses
We offer Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP) courses from six to 30 weeks for students who need help achieving these requirements. Even if you have already met the minimum entry requirements you could still benefit, as many students do, from the study skills and orientation to the UK education system that is offered by a short PEAP course.

In-sessional English language support
In-sessional English language support classes are available to all international (non-EU) students studying on degree courses at NTU. There is no extra charge for these classes.
How to apply
You will need to complete the UCAS application form to apply for a full-time course. Candidates are not required to attend an interview.
