This course is designed to provide a broad and solid introduction to modern system-orientated ICT applications, such as those employed in the expanding field of mobile communications, mobile computing, wireless networking and rich media technologies. AssessmentYou will be assessed through a mixture of coursework, assignments and examinations. The coursework will mostly be individual with some group work, and will include presentations, demonstrations and laboratory exercises.

Placements on this courseAfter the second year, you will have the opportunity to undertake a placement in industry, including overseas options. If taken, this will give you the chance to gain vital experience and put your knowledge into practice. Recent placement salaries have ranged from £10,000 to £35,000. Many students impress their employers on placement and are offered jobs at the end of their course.
The School has an excellent record of placing students and has good contacts with both local and national industry. A number of placements are available in Europe and worldwide. On completion of a successful placement, you will be eligible for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Studies.

eSkills internshipsMany students enjoy the challenge of arranging their own work placement or a practical internship which forms part of many of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It can give you invaluable insight into applying for a job, undertaking practical and theoretical application tests and experiencing what a real job interview is like.
