This course is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) enabing successful graduates to register as fully qualified veterinary nurses. Brackenhurst is an approved RCVS examination centre and our flagship Veterinary Nursing Centre simulates real-life veterinary practice and develops the scientific, technical and practical skills essential for working as a veterinary nurse.

Entry requirements

  • 120 UCAS points (including Science A-level) and five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English, Science and Maths 
  • PASS PASS PASS (PPP) or above in BTEC Extended Diploma (18 units) including: Merit (M) in Biology and Anatomy and Physiology and Merit (M) in one of the following units: Nutrition, Breeding, Animal Health, Biochemistry and Microbiology, Scientific Methods or Stats and IT. 
  • GCSE Maths at grade C or above is also required.

All applicants must have obtained a total of two weeks work experience in one or more small animal veterinary practices in the UK before applying through UCAS and must state the length and type of experience  in their personal statement. Applicants will be required to attend an interview.
