All students will study three subject areas, one of which will be Professional Studies. It is this subject which gives the Joint Honours course its distinctive character.

You will undertake one core module in each year of your degree to develop your transferable and employability skills. In Year One you will be supported in your studies by an individual and group based learning module which develops, for example, research and writing skills. In Year Two students undertake a work based learning module including a 30-day placement in an organisation of your choice. Finally, in Year Three, a research based learning module enables you to pursue enquiry into an area of your choice.

Special and Inclusive Education modules begin with an exploration of the origins and development of the issue. Later modules then consider access, strategies and solutions used in special and inclusive education as well as in the diversity of such provision.

Educational development modules consider all the facets of how we learn and develop, as well as looking in detail at how education systems are organised, particularly the English system.
