About the course
You will study compulsory law modules as required by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board for Qualifying Law Degree purposes as well as modules designed to develop and enhance your legal and professional skills.
You will attend the same seminars as full-time LLB students but the timetabling of your classes and the overall duration of the programme are flexible to meet your needs. Your seminars may, for example, be scheduled on just one day per week, or on two afternoons or one extended afternoon.

Assessment
Assessment includes problem-based coursework, essays, case analysis reports, independent projects, examinations, oral presentations and participation in legal advocacy (mooting).
Your future career
The transferable legal skills which you will acquire on the programme are very highly regarded and our graduates are sought by both legal employers and employers in finance, industry, commerce and the public sector.
When you graduate, there is the opportunity for you to apply for entry to the Legal Practice Course or the highly regarded Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) here at Nottingham Law School. If you want to become a solicitor you will be guaranteed a place on our Legal Practice Course (LPC) following successful completion of the LLB with honours (normally a 2.1 or above. Students who gain or are predicted a 2.2 will be considered if they can provide additional evidence of their achievement).
Nottingham Law School's LPC is the only one to have received the highest possible rating from the Law Society every year.
The University's Careers Service is available to all students and offers a comprehensive range of careers advice and relevant resources.
Employability
In 2008/09, 95% of Nottingham Trent University graduates* from full-time undergraduate courses were employed or undertaking further study six months after leaving.

Applications are welcomed from individuals without formal qualifications who can satisfy the School of their ability to undertake the course. Applications are assessed on an individual basis, taking into account any formal qualifications, the personal statement, references and any relevant life/work experience.
You will need one of bulleted combinations listed below:
- five GCE / GCSE passes, two at A-level
- four GCE / GCSE passes, three at A-level
- BTEC National / Higher Certificate or Diploma
- an appropriate Access course qualification
- an appropriate Professional qualification
- a degree in another discipline.
English language requirements
Additional English language qualifications may be required for students when English is not their first language.
