Foundation degrees adopt a more vocational approach to learning than the BSc (Hons) degree and are designed to give more support to students looking to progress to a higher level. Students who achieve a high academic standard may progress from a foundation degree into the final year of an honours degree on successful completion of a gateway module over the summer.

Lower entry points enable students to access these courses and develop the fundamental knowledge and skills to progress in a relevant vocation or further study.
