Students
We asked some of our students, past and present, why they chose NTU, what they liked about their course and how they enjoyed studying in Nottingham. Here is what they said.

Why did you choose NTU?
"It was more to do with what the course had to offer: really good facilities and studios. I also think that Nottingham is a great city to be in with a lot to offer."

What is the best thing about the course?
"The best thing about the course is that we get to use lots of materials and explore lots of processes. You are really well trained on the machinery and materials."

What has been the best thing about your time at NTU?
"It's probably the placement, because it has been a great experience. I went to two swatch studios, one down in London and one here in Nottingham."

What do you like about Nottingham?
"The nightlife is really great with a good atmosphere. Nottingham's small, full of students and easy to get around."

What has been the best thing about your course?
"It's the diversity of the projects and the amount of different areas that you can explore within Theatre Design."
Ruchi Kaura Goyal, MA Textile Design and Innovation
What has been the best thing about your time at NTU?
"NTU has extensive technical facilities, which have given me the opportunity to learn new skills and gain a great understanding of process. My supervisors challenged the understanding of my art and encouraged me to re-evaluate and explore my concepts."
Danielle Wilkinson, BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Branding
What is the best thing about your course?
"It's very diverse. Unlike other courses that just specialise in fashion design or knitwear we look at aspects of design, marketing, buying, merchandising, trend prediction, branding, and exhibition design. It is unique and there's no other course quite like it in the country. We have the creative side and the academic side: the best of both worlds!"
Martyn Blundell, MA Fine Art
What did you enjoy about your time at NTU?
"The freedom to write my own course; it was an MA by registered project, the structure and discipline that the course gave to my working methods and ideas, and the one-to-one tutorials which were gruelling and intense – just what I wanted."
Amanda Hood, BA (Hons) Design for Film and Television
What’s the best thing about your course?
"The best thing about my course is the variety of skills we are taught, from technical drawing to model making. We also do lots of industry work experience which allows you to see the industry before you graduate and helps you to decide exactly what it is you want to do."
