The School of Architecture, Design and Built Environment is engaged with industries through material testing and prototyping. Our product prototyping equipment includes Waterjet Cutting Machine, Dimension Rapid Prototype Printers and a SCM CNC 3 Axis Router.
Advanced Design and Manufacturing Engineering Centre (ADMEC)
Nottingham Trent University has pioneered multidisciplinary design and manufacturing activities over many years. ADMEC engages in research and consultancy in design and manufacturing technologies, primarily in the following five areas:
- design engineering
- advanced manufacturing technology
- engineering mechanics
- robotic systems
- electrical and electronic engineering.
ADMEC focuses on activities in design and manufacturing technologies with emphasis on design engineering, advanced manufacturing technology, engineering mechanics and medical appliance design. Other projects include investigation of the use of thermal probes, sustainable building technology, sustainable and environmental design via the Sustainable Consumption Research Group, construction and construction quality assurance, such as the installation of flexible membrane liners in steep-walled landfilled sites, and development of modular panel systems.

studiomade is an exciting textile swatch studio selling highly innovative designs produced by students, staff and graduates from the Textile Design degree. The swatches are created using digital and traditional technologies in print, embroidery and weave for a range of applications such as apparel, interiors and site-specific work.
studiomade@ntu can also work on commissions to create bespoke design swatches as inspiration for your design business.
