Student volunteering
Many of our students are looking for opportunities to share their time, interests and skills with the local community and we would really value your organisation's help. We offer the following schemes to both student and staff volunteers to enhance their CVs and satiate their interests. These schemes support organisations and the local community in achieving their goals.
initi8
initi8 provides students with the opportunity to create their own one-off and short-term voluntary projects, alongside accessing a variety of opportunities with local organisations. The University and Students' Union work closely together to ensure this is a great project, with all the opportunities having the full support and guidance from staff members. If you or your business would like to get involved, please contact us.
One-day challenges
These are designed to support Student Committees at each of the NTU campuses. The aim is to recruit students as Project Leaders to organise and deliver one-day projects in the local community. If you have a community project that you think our students could manage for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Student-led projects
Students set-up a project of interest to them, which meets a community need. These projects seek to create longer term opportunities, with students taking the lead in their planning, development and delivery.
Volunteer Shop
This project matches students to volunteering opportunities in local organisations, enabling them to take part in a subject of interest to them and gain some course/career related experience. If your organisation would like to get involved, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Students in Classrooms
Over 500 NTU students work in local schools and colleges each year with the aim of raising aspirations, attainment and providing positive role models from higher education. If your school would like to get involved, please contact Jamie Marshall.
