Web-based Brackenhurst Estate map John Stapleton, Animal, Rural and Environmental Studies Sites.google.com/site/jts525site/ A web based map of the estate that gives field by field information on current and previous crops and allows users of the
estate to record observations and activities carried out on the estate. A resource that can be viewed by staff, students, visitors, outsiders and all – to be used in whatever way suits their needs
– to aid teaching/learning, to find information, to contribute information or whatever.
Captivate ® your audience Stuart Jolly, School of Science and Technology In this session Dr Stuart Jolly will be talking about his aims and experiences (trials and tribulations) of exploring the
use of Adobe Captivate as a software tool to create materials for NOW, including the creation of audio and visual materials,
online slideshows and screen capture videos and interactive software simulations. Presentation to be available shortly.

Student engagement and academic blogging Matt Ashton, School of Social Sciences This presentation examines the issue of academic blogging. This includes looking at the various ways how a blog can be used
from a teaching and learning perspective, to support and structure student engagement within a particular subject area. Examples
