Viv Caruana was commissioned to produce an annotated bibliography on internationalising the curriculum. This is available
online via the Resources section of the CASQ web site.Viv sent the following message,
"Please could you pass on my thanks to other presenter and the participants too. It was great to be able to connect with a
group of colleagues who have such commitment to and enthusiasm for their work in this field of endeavour."
Viv also described the work of CAPRI (Centre for Academic Practice and Research in Internationalisation) and extended an invitation to colleagues to become involved
in its work:
"We need to keep the conversations going, extend them, broaden the network and consolidate our efforts globally to keep moving
practice forward through scholarly research and making sure that when interventions seem to work they get out into the public
domain in the form of case studies. CAPRI is the vehicle for this, with its global networks for collaboration to develop joint
bids to secure research funding and its resource bank to disseminate research and showcase effective practice. It is also
unique in encouraging staff in whatever role to make their contribution to the field and to cross the boundaries of practice."
Many of the participants commented that they appreciated the opportunity that the event provided to discuss issues with colleagues
and to share experience and practice, an example was "The event certainly provided 'food for thought' - useful hearing about
programmes and experiences" A write up of additional comments and reflections written during the event is available.
CASQ and CPLD plan to host a follow up symposium on an aspect of internationalisation in the 2011/11 academic year and this
will be announced via eNews. If you wish to be involved in this or have suggestions for theme please contact Michaela Borg or Alison Stewart.
