Events, conferences and courses
Introduction There are many opportunities at NTU for exchange and discussion around learning and teaching, with varying degrees of formality.
This section offers an overview of the more regular fixtures in the NTU calendar, plus a selection of external events. Also
listed here are the University's postgraduate programmes in learning and teaching.
Annual Learning and Teaching Conference 2013
The 2013 conference will take place on Tuesday 26 March with the title of "Student Transitions". We are delighted to confirm that in 2013 we will be joined by two keynote speakers.

The CALL FOR PAPERS has now closed. Colleagues who have submitted papers, presentations or posters will be contacted week commencing 17 December.

- Course Leaders Development Programme
A Course Leaders Development Programme of events is under development, to be delivered jointly by CADQ and CPLD. See the CPLD website for further information.
- Panel training
The University offers training for colleagues who wish to participate in panels for Programme Validation and Subject / Periodic
Review. Please contact the Chair of your School Academic Standards and Quality Committee (SASQC) in the first instance, if
you are interested in becoming a panel member.
- External events and conferences
Formal programmes
The implementation of a new Professional Development Framework for Learning and Teaching will bring further formal development
programmes, from early 2013. For more information please see the CPLD website.
- MA Programmes in education
The School of Education at NTU offers an MA programme which is very flexible and which can be tailored to meet participants'
needs. You can find out more about what is available on the MA Programme listing in course finder.
- PG Certificate in HE
The University's Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education is a part-time, one-year programme. It introduces colleagues
to the scholarship of learning and teaching in higher education and is highly practice-based. Successful completion of the
programme enables you to apply for professional recognition. More information about the PGCHE.
- PG Diploma in research informed teaching
This programme is intended for academics who have previously worked as practitioners (e.g. in law, social work, education)
before taking up positions in the university sector. Participants leave the programme equipped with research skills and having
considered the ways in which research links to their teaching. You can find out more about what is available on the PG Diploma listing in course finder.
