Funding bodies
JISC Established in the late 1980's as the Joint Information Systems Committee, JISC aims to promote innovation in UK education
and research by being "the UK's expert on information and digital technologies for education and research".
Funded by all the UK's post-16 and HE funding bodies JISC offers leadership and support to UK education organisations by providing
resources, knowledge and expertise that individual institutions may not be able to access.
Funding types JISC funds a wide range of projects and studies, many of which are in response to Grant Funding Calls and Invitations to Tender.
Grant funding Eligible UK Higher Education and Further Education institutions, such as NTU are able to lead bids in response to JISC.
Grant funding opportunities Invitations to tender (ITT). These are open to anyone to bid.
Institutions submitting bids via both Grant funding calls and ITT calls will be expected to meet numerous requirements as
set out on the JISC website on the Grant bidding guide and ITT bidding guide pages.
In 2009 the NTU led SHARE project was awarded £250,00 through the JISC Information Environment Programme.
