Researching learning and teaching
The last decade has seen a rapid expansion in the amount of research being conducted into teaching and learning in an HE context.
Research into learning and teaching can be carried out for a variety of purposes, such as to inform teaching and curriculum
development and for professional advancement through publication.
There are a considerable number of journals and other outlets in which research can be written up for publication and the
level at which you wish to use your findings will inform the depth of design of your research. This page will point to some
resources in the area of research into learning and teaching.

- NTU has its own survey tool (Autoform) designed by Andy Sutton and Kristan Hopkins-Burke that is free to use.
- Survey Monkey (accessed 11 May 2009). You can carry out a small survey for free using Survey Monkey but for larger surveys a subscription
is required.
