Case exemplars for staff identifying academic misconduct

These exemplars serve as discussion prompts for colleagues on aspects of academic misconduct (AM). It is hoped that discussing problematic cases may aid colleagues in agreeing ways of identifying and following up AM. It may be that colleagues wish to use the collection selectively, or adapt it for local contexts, and the resource has been written with this in mind.

The nine cases have been developed from the author's experiences to reflect main issues of relevance to staff at NTU. The main focus is plagiarism.

Each case consists of:

• an illustrative example with suggested questions for discussion (Section One)
• discussion notes and references (Section Two).
