QAA Audits

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is responsible for safeguarding the public interest in standards of higher education qualifications, and encouraging continuous improvement in the management of the quality of higher education.

The QAA reviews standards and quality through an institution based auditing system. The audits aim to ensure that institutions are providing higher education, awards and qualifications of an acceptable quality and an appropriate academic standard.

The last institutional audit at NTU took place in November 2008.  The audit found that the University's academic standards and learning opportunities were sound, and that NTU has a clear strategy for the enhancement of the student learning experience. The audit also found that the University's management of its support, supervision and assessment of its research students to be rigorous and effective.

A QAA audit of the University's collaborative links with external partners took place in May 2010.  The Audit concluded that the positive outcomes reported in the full institutional audit of November 2008 equally applied to NTU's Collaborative provision.

The date of the next QAA Institutional Review is awaited.

The Collaborative Register is attached here.
